Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

At Avondale Park School we have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 non teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, two sports halls, and developing playgrounds.

We are an inclusive school encouraging the academic, social and personal development of every child in a welcoming and secure environment. Visitors are always struck by the friendly but hardworking atmosphere created by staff and pupils and indeed, Ofsted commented on this.

As your child’s first teacher, you will be aware of your child's needs, strengths and weaknesses and we hope to build upon that experience through a strong home – school partnership. We are happy to discuss our approach to education with parents and hope that they will continue to be involved in their children’s education throughout their school career.

We look forward to meeting you. Please phone for an appointment.

Best wishes, Katy Blackler - Headteacher.

GOVERNORS MEETING TUESDAY 17TH MAY 2016
The first meeting of the Governors for the summer term was held on Tuesday 17th May. Charlie Manners, our chairman, warmly welcomed two new governors to the committee. John Curtis a teacher from Westminster School and Lucy Lubbock a magistrate; and both have a wealth of experience in working with young people. We are delighted to have their input and expertise at Avondale and St Anne’s. Our meeting started with training on SRE organised and expertly delivered by teacher and Governor Rachael Law.
In addition to the usual administration business, we had Head teachers’ reports from Katy and Dionne updating us on school life plus many wonderful extras e.g. the whole school Olympic project for after half term, the Globe Theatre project, the year 6 trip to Devon, newly hatched chicks and Forest Schools at St Anne’s, (to mention just a few). We were updated on the exciting development of the new Nursery building and we heard from Fiona Greenwood about the new Reading Room, which Avondale Extra has supported. The Governors will this term be meeting their subject curriculum link teachers to learn about developments and progress in each curriculum area.
